Phlebotomist / COVID Testing / Registration


Munising Memorial Hospital is seeking a temporary full-time (Monday – Friday), Phlebotomist for COVID testing.  Our Phlebotomist is responsible for managing our COVID hotline and collecting samples from patients for possible COVID-19 infection.


This position is temporary full-time, 40 hours per week. Time will be divided between Phlebotomy/COVID Testing and Hospital Registration. Benefits include: health insurance, dental, life insurance, 403B retirement, and paid time off.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Patient registration
  • Document assessments of COVID-19 screenings
  • Collects vital signs
  • Perform rapid antibody testing through blood droplet collection/finger stick
  • Perform nasopharyngeal testing and collection of specimen
  • Blood Specimen collection
  • Specimen preparation
  • Point of care testing


Minimum Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certificate preferred
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Computer proficiency required

Clinic LPN / Chronic Care Coordinator


Munising Memorial Hospital is seeking a full time (days) Clinic LPN / Chronic Care Coordinator. This position provides direct and indirect patient care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general needs of the patients. The Chronic Care Management Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating the physical health care of patients on an assigned patient caseload with the patient’s medical provider and, when appropriate, other specialists.  The Clinic LPN / Chronic Care Coordinator maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing, and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.


This position is 40 hours per week. Time will be divided between Clinic LPN and Chronic Care Coordinator. Benefits include: health insurance, dental, life insurance, 403B retirement, and paid time off.


Clinic LPN

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares patient and equipment required for examination and treatment by the provider.
  • Assists the provider with patient examination and testing.
  • Prepares treatment room, calls patients from waiting area, and obtains the patients chief complaint.
  • Records height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and instructs patient in obtaining urine samples.
  • Obtains reports of laboratory and radiology results.
  • Administers and records injections.
  • Coordinates prescription refills and mail order prescriptions for patient.
  • Performs random and scheduled drug screens per federal regulations.


Chronic Care Coordinator

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the Clinic Manager with the development of a Chronic Care Management Program for Clinic patients.
  • Engage patients, inform them of their needs, and empower them and their families to achieve understanding of their chronic disease management process.
  • Screen patients for medication adherence, social determinants of health, and physical needs.
  • Facilitate patient engagement and follow-up care.
  • Provide patient education about chronic disease management, as well as available financial, social and community resources.
  • Monitor and take responsibility for a patient population as well as track on up to date preventative measures.
  • Systematically track treatment response and monitor patients (by telephone) for changes in medication adherence and physical health.
  • Provide resources when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with provider to assist in initiating an individual care plan with goals for patient.
  • Track patient follow up and clinical outcomes using a care plan.
  • Document telephone encounters in the care plan and use the system to identify and re-engage patients.
  • Assist clinic manager with quality measures/PCMH.


Education/Experience Requirements:

  • 1 – 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Licensed LPN required.
  • Good organizational skills, communication skills and ability to work independently at a fast pace.
  • BLS certification.
  • Current/unrestricted drug screen collector certification preferred.
  • Proficient in EHR.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and twisting.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Agility and strength sufficient to handle patients and equipment without assistance.
  • Must be able to appropriately respond physically and psychologically to emergency situations.
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other health conditions.

Information Technology Specialist


Munising Memorial Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, effective, and experienced IT specialist to join our team. In this position, you will use your expertise to monitor and maintain our IT systems. You will focus on specific computer networks, databases, and a system administration. You will also participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the organization and ensure that system hardware, operating systems, and software systems are fully operational.


The Information Technology Specialist is a full-time and salaried position. Benefits include: health & dental insurance, vision, life insurance, 403B retirement, and paid time off.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel to discuss and resolve issues.
  • Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
  • Install and configure wireless networking equipment.
  • Obtains reports of laboratory and radiology results.
  • Create, analyze, report, convert, or transfer data, using specialized applications program software.
  • Provide for the implementation, configuration, deployment, and support of systems, including, but not limited to client computing devices.
  • Provide training and assistance to employees as needed.
  • Maintain EMR software critical to operations of the hospital.


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • CompTIA A+ certification is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple problems simultaneously.
  • Preferred experience working with following environments: Mac OS, Windows 10 & Windows Server 2008+ operating systems, Exchange / Office 365, Network Storage, and Cerner EMR.
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting various technical equipment such as laptops, video conferencing systems, mobiles, etc.
  • Knowledge of hardware technology and concepts.

Volunteer Program

September 2017, MMH launched our Volunteer Program after the auxiliary dissolved in early 2017. The goal is for MMH to once again become the Community Hospital by getting the community involved and volunteering. Currently, there are 4 different positions available to volunteers: Greeter, Cafe, Special Events, and Patient Activities.
