Registered Nurse (RN)


Munising Memorial Hospital is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Emergency Department (ED) whose compassion, clinical expertise, and excellence are top priority. The selected candidate will work night shift (12 Hours) in our Emergency Department (ED). We are looking for a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) and are offering a $5,000 sign on bonus.


Candidates for the Registered Nurse (RN) position should meet the following requirements:


  • State of Michigan Registered Nursing License.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider Certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification is Required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) Certification is Preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with healthcare team and patients.
  • Critical thinking skills to assess, plan, direct and delegate emergent patient care.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver equipment; ability to position and transfer patients using assistive devices and proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to utilize sensory skills for clinical and environmental assessment.

Clinic LPN / Medical Assistant


Munising Memorial Hospital is seeking a full time (days) Clinic LPN / Medical Assistant. This position provides direct and indirect patient care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general needs of the patients. To provide care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations under the supervision of the Clinic Manager and Providers.  The Clinic LPN / Medical Assistant maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing, and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.


The Clinic LPN / Medical Assistant is a full-time, 40 hours per week, position. Benefits include: health & dental insurance, vision, life insurance, 403B retirement, and paid time off.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patient and equipment required for examination and treatment by the provider.
  • Assists the provider with patient examination and testing.
  • Reviews patient chart prior to visit.
  • Prepares treatment room, calls patients from waiting area, and obtains the patients chief complaint.
  • Records height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and instructs patient in obtaining urine samples.
  • Obtains reports of laboratory and radiology results.
  • Communicates results to patients as instructed and/or communicates with the provider the results that need addressing.
  • Administers and records injections.
  • Coordinates prescription refills and mail order prescriptions for patient.
  • Obtains prescription prior authorizations as needed.
  • Schedules referral appointments and pre-authorizations as instructed.
  • Performs random and scheduled drug screens per federal regulations.


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • One year experience in a health care setting.
  • Medical Assistant or LPN certification required.
  • Good organizational skills, communication skills and ability to work independently at a fast pace.
  • BLS certification.
  • Current/unrestricted drug screen collector certification preferred.
  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and twisting.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Agility and strength sufficient to handle patients and equipment without assistance.
  • Must be able to appropriately respond physically and psychologically to emergency situations.
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other health conditions.

Registration Clerk


Munising Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time, afternoons, Registration Clerk.  This candidate will arrange for the efficient and orderly registration of individuals who arrive at Munising Memorial Hospital.  Ensures that patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures.  Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for registration into computer database.  Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments.  Assists Billing and other departments on an as needed basis for specified projects.


Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for registering patients for scheduled & unscheduled outpatient tests and procedures and verifying insurance eligibility.
  • Responsible for interviewing patients or their representative, where registration is unscheduled, for obtaining personal information or verifying information already on file, including emergency numbers and insurance information.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to supervisor, nurses, coworkers and physicians.
  • Responsible for knowing hospital policies and being familiar with hospital services that are available.
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity; ensures confidentiality of patient health information and patients’ records.
  • Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
  • Ensures that documentation meets current standards and policies. Notifies supervisor when it does not meet standards & policies.
  • Answers the telephone in a polite manner and communicates information to the appropriate department/staff member.
  • Performs clerical functions which may include: copying, faxing and processing forms.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Respects and maintains confidentiality.
  • Works in a safe, compliant and ethical manner at all times.



  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year experience in a medical office environment or related experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Must have the ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
  • Must have high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to understand and become knowledgeable of release of information standards, policies, procedures, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Basic computer knowledge. Basic knowledge of office equipment.

Volunteer Program

September 2017, MMH launched our Volunteer Program after the auxiliary dissolved in early 2017. The goal is for MMH to once again become the Community Hospital by getting the community involved and volunteering. Currently, there are 4 different positions available to volunteers: Greeter, Cafe, Special Events, and Patient Activities.
